I had someone tell me not to get quartz watch because you really need to pay for the "complications" in a high end swiss watch to justify the price. Personally, it just seems pointless to me to get a watch that has to be wound when you use it, if you don't wear it every day, and constantly reset to maintain accuracy. Using 19th century technology in the 21st century to justify a high price, seems like a triumph of wealth over common sense.
